INTERLOCKING PAVONA
Common on shallow reefs exposed to wave action. Stout erect
blades, some interlocking, irregular rows of deep star-shaped calices.
Variable shades of brown , lacking white edges, extended tentacles white
or yellow-green. Pavona frondifera
is smaller and highly contorted. Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii.
