BOULDER BRAIN CORAL

Locally common on shallow reefs.  Forms large hemispherical colonies or encrusting, ridges incised by a thin groove, uniform brown or gray, rarely with green valleys.  Surface features are larger than Diploria.  Bermuda, Florida to Venezuela & the Gulf of Mexico.
