PRICKLY TONGUE CORAL

Common in sand or rubble pockets on reefs and lagoons.  Robust with tendency to become distorted, axial furrow with a single mouth not extending near tips, septa alternate, curving and widening slightly toward margins, brown.  Red Sea to Japan  and the Society Islands.
