SAMOAN ACROPORA
Common on
shallow reefs exposed to wave action. Hemispherical colonies of
curved branches with some side branches, large axial corallites and
tubular radial corallites of two sizes. Acropora
gemmifera has radial corallites which increase in size below, Acropora
digitifera has straight vertical branches. Purplish blue or light brown. Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii.
