COLUMNAR ISOPORA

Locally common on shallow reefs exposed to wave action.  Thick, mostly vertical ridges, columns, or fingers, radial corallites exsert with thick collars, light brown.  Isopora cuneata is structurally identical but grows horizontally.  Formerly known as Acropora palifera.  Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii.
