BLUE-EYE DAMSELFISH
A common solitary inhabitant of large Pocillopora
coral upon which it feeds. Hawaiian adults are olive green
transitioning to dark gray toward the tail with neon blue iris and fin
margins, juveniles pale greenish yellow with iridescent blue markings,
Indo-Pacific adults yellow with a diffuse black
bar near the tail. Attains 4 inches. East Africa to Okinawa,
Hawaii, and Pitcairn. |
