BLUE DAMSEL

Occurs on protected reefs among sand and rubble.  Blue-green with vertical scale lines, dark ear spot, horizontal lines on head and back, and posterior caudal rays trending yellow.  Attains 4.25 inches.  East Africa east to French Polynesia, excluding Hawai'i.  Pomacentrus coelestis is smaller, neon blue lacking distinct dark vertical scale lines, and posterior caudal rays of soft dorsal, anal, and caudal rays yellow with blue margins.
