Faga'alu, Tutuila, American Samoa, 6 feet

Common in Acropora thickets in lagoons where it farms filamentous algae.  Has a black spot on base of the soft dorsal fin and pectoral base, pink-violet marks on face.  Attains 5.5 inches.  Red Sea to French Polynesia, excluding Hawai'i.
