YELLOWMARGINED
MORAY puhi paka
Common in
reef crevices and caverns at any depth where it feeds upon fish, crab,
and octopi. Robust with a blunt snout and straight jaws that close
completely. Color consistent with a yellow base mottled by brown,
a dark area surrounding the gill opening, and bright green or orange fin
margins. Attains 95 inches. Red Sea to Okinawa, Hawai'i,
French Polynesia, Costa Rica and the Galapagos.
