MAGNIFICENT SNAKE EEL      puhi lā'au

Uncommon among rubble or hard reef at scuba depths where it may be observed swimming in the open.  Eyes small, cream with brown oval spots.  Attains 3 feet.  Endemic to Hawai'i.  Closely related to the Indo-Pacific Myrichthys maculosus.
