Common on reefs where it effectively blends into the surrounding area.  Thick with a humped back, light brown with dark saddles frequently coated with filamentous or coralline algae.  Underside of pectoral fins orange with black and yellow border, displayed as defensive warning if disturbed.  Attains 12 inches.  Red Sea to Japan, Hawai'i, and French Polynesia.
