CROWN or DIADEM SQUIRRELFISH       'ala'ihi       Niji-ebisu

Fairly common solitary species found in crevices of shallow reefs.  Ruby red with a rounded profile and pointed snout and black spiny dorsal fin with a white stripe through the middle.  Attains 7 inches.  Red Sea to Hawaii and Pitcairn.
