WHITESPINE SURGEONFISH
palani Nise-kanran-hagi
Locally common on shallow reefs in clear water. Brown with yellowish-orange
dorsal and pectoral fins, a large white caudal spine edged with black, blue tail with numerous black dots, and a yellow band around the caudal peduncle. Attains 21 inches.
East Africa to Okinawa, Micronesia, Hawai'i and Line Islands. |
