LATENT SLINGJAW WRASSE
Uncommon on coral reefs at any depth. Gray or
brown with pale caudal peduncle, yellow fin rays, and yellow spot
extending from dorsal fin onto back. Feeds upon crustaceans using an extremely protrusible lower
jaw. Attains
9 inches.
Indonesia to Micronesia and Papua New Guinea. |
