HAPU'U PULU

Abundant in mesic to wet forests of the Main Hawaiian Islands.  Fronds covered by dense golden brown hairs (pulu), pinnule segments cut 7/8 deep, basal segments with projecting 'ear', waxy blue-gray beneath, with white cobwebby hairs, and dark veins.  Endemic to Hawaii.
