SAND ANEMONE

Rare in sandy rubble at any depth, locally common in Kaneohe Bay and Ma'alaea Bay.  White with orange, green, blue, or violet fluorescence.  Attains 12 inches but usually much less.  Sometimes accompanied by the tiny commensal shrimp, Thor amboinensis, or juvenile Hawaiian Dascyllus.  Hawaii, East Indian Ocean & the Tropical Pacific.
