STRIPED ZOANTHID

Locally common on hard substrate within tidepools or along surf-beaten shores, sometimes forming beds.  Large crowded polyps, disc up to 25mm, color variable, green mouths, and smooth translucent column generally with white stripes.  Preyed upon by Sundial snails.  Avoid contact since it may contain deadly Palytoxin.  Hawaii and the West Pacific.
