LONG-SPINED URCHIN
WANA
Uncommon in shaded areas with good
water circulation. Black, sometimes with five white dots on top,
juveniles are banded brown and white. Test attains 3 inches, spines 12 inches. Short venomous spines protected by long primary
spines. Juvenile fish may take refuge among the spines. East
Africa to Okinawa, Hawaii, and Pitcairn. |
