NUTTING'S ARK

Common in clusters beneath dead coral at any depth, loosely attached with the hinge facing outward.  White or tan stained with reddish brown, and coated with a thin periostracum.  Attains 0.5 inch, 12 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Formerly known as Barbatia nuttingi.
