HAWAIIAN OYSTER
Common on hard reef in shallow water of quiet bays and harbors.
Heavily encrusted by coralline algae, often distorted, triangular ribs and sawtooth
margins. Attains 2 inches. Endemic to Hawaii. Formerly
known as Ostrea sandvicensis. |
