WINGED PEARL OYSTER
| Uncommon on Black and
Wire Coral at depths greater than 60 feet,
heavily encrusted with coralline algae.. The shell has a dark brown
periostracum, and the margins crumble when dry. Attains length of 4 inches,
100 mm. Endemic to
Hawaii. |
