Occurs on sand or rubble on shallow reefs.  The external surface is quite smooth and the shell is unable to fully close.  Distinctive pattern of black lines on a yellow background with iridescent blue green margin.  Attains length of 24 inches.  Indonesia and Australia to Tonga.
