DWARF CONE

| Common on intertidal benches,
tidepools, and shallow reefs. The base is dark blue and the body whorl is
devoid of spiral cords. The animal is white with pink extremities. Attains
1.3 inches, 34 mm. South Africa to Okinawa, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus. Conus paukstisi has rows of spiral granules
halfway up the body whorl. Both were formerly known in Hawaii as Conus
sponsalis. |
