PERFORATED CONE

| Fairly common in dead coral deeper
than 40 feet. Shell lightweight, pink with two vague salmon or maroon
bands, a purple base and aperture, sometimes with beaded spirals.
The animal is light yellow with black speckles. Attains 2.7 inches, 69
mm. South Africa to Japan, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus. |
