RAT CONE

| Common on reefs at any depth.
Spire smooth with spiral grooves, shell glossy olive brown or
purplish-brown with white
flammules, vague spiral bands, and dashes, aperture purple and white, the
animal is greenish black. Attains 2.6 inches, 70 mm. Red Sea
to Japan, Hawaii, and French Polynesia. |
