SPICER'S CONE  

Rare in sand pockets or under rocks deeper than 10 feet, dwarf shells are locally common at Midway.  Shell solid and dull, light yellow, aperture white, spire flat and smooth, large shells tend to be rough.  The animal is brown with a yellow head, siphon banded black and white.  Attains 5 inches, 152 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii, related to West Pacific Conus coelinae.
