ARMORED DRUPE or DYE SHELL

Common in crevices in the surf zone.  Shell thick, heavily encrusted with coralline algae, aperture pale orange.  Attains 4 inches.  Red Sea to Hawaii and French Polynesia.  Formerly known as Thais armigera and Reishia armigera.
