GIRDLED TRITON

Rare among oysters and pen shells deeper than 100 feet.  Cream with variable brown cords.  Shells pictured lack a fully-developed outer lip.  Attains 2.8 inches, 70 mm.  Tropics worldwide.  Formerly known as Cymatium cingulatum.
