MARBLED TOP SHELL   KAHELELANI

Common under stones in shallow water.  Color variable, smooth shell.  Feeds upon filamentous algae.  Operculum thin and yellow.  Attains 0.25 inch, 6mm.  Used for Ni'ihau shell lei.  Red Sea to Hawaii and the Society Islands.
