MAN-O-WAR NUDIBRANCH
Pelagic slug that floats on the sea surface and preys upon Portuguese
Man-of-War. Stores stinging cells (nematocysts) from the
Man-of-war in its finger-like cerata for defense. Attains 1.5 inch.
Typically encountered as a blue & silver lump washed ashore by strong
onshore winds. Worldwide in warm seas. |
