Baseodiscus cingulatus

BANDED RIBBON WORM

Found on shallow reefs and in tidepools at night.  Easily identified by the pattern of reddish-brown rings.  Retreats quickly when disturbed.  Attains length of 1 meter but diameter of just 5mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.
