Occurs in small groups on sheltered coral reefs.  Color pattern varies from striped to uniform, two broken lines of blue spots on face, and a pale spot at base of soft dorsal fin.  Attains 3.5 inches.  Indonesia to the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Northern Australia.
