Makua, Oahu, 30 feet

Locally common on fine sand at scuba depths but rarely noticed by divers.  Oblong with large eyes set close together.  Engyprosopon arenicola is similar but has smaller eyes.  Attains 3 inches.  Endemic to Hawai'i.
