Common on reefs at scuba depths.
Color and pattern varies from bright red to greenish brown with inverted
Y-shaped bars and irregular dark patches on the gill cover and ahead of
the tail. A curious fish that props itself upon the reef waiting
for food to drift by. Attains 4.5 inches. Endemic to
Hawai'i. |
