GHOST TUBE ANEMONE
Inhabits tubes in sandy areas at any depth. Easily observed at night when
banded tentacles are
extended. Retracts rapidly when disturbed. Color variable,
usually pale. A large colony inhabits the turning basin at Makai Pier, Oahu.
Attains crown diameter of 1.5 inches. Hawaii and the Tropical
Pacific. |
