SUNRAY ZOANTHID
| Occasional on shaded vertical surfaces in shallow water exposed to wave action. Polyps
loosely spaced,
tentacles short or nub-like, tan with brown disc and fine radiatating lines, mouth
small, column lacking stripes. Attains diameter of 1 inch. Formerly known as Palythoa vestitus.
Avoid contact since it may contain deadly
Palytoxin. Okinawa and Queensland to Hawaii. |
