MULBERRY DRUPE   MAKALOA

Abundant on limestone reef in shallow water to 30 feet, where it preys upon tube-dwelling worms and bivalves.  The aperture is violet and most shells are eroded and heavily encrusted with coralline algae.  Attains 2 inches, 50 mm.  Red Sea to Hawaii and the Tuamotus.
