ARMORED DRUPE

Locally common in crevices on hard reef exposed to surf.  Shell thick and heavily encrusted with coralline algae, aperture pale orange.  Attains 4.2 inches, 106 mm.  Red Sea to Hawaii and French Polynesia.  Formerly known as Thais armigera and Reishia armigera.
