INTERMEDIATE DRUPE   AUPŪPŪ

Common on rocks in the surge zone where it feeds upon 'opihi limpets.  Most shells are badly eroded and coated by coralline algae.  Attains 2 inches, 53 mm.  South Africa to Hawaii and the Society Islands.  Formerly known as Mancinella intermedia and Thais intermedia.
