BLACKFOOT LIMPET    'OPIHI MAKA-IA-ULI

Common on basalt from the spray zone to the coralline algae belt of the mid-intertidal, higher than other Cellana.  It has tidy ribs with narrow interspaces, not extending far beyond the shell margin, and the interior scar is dark gray or black.  The animal's foot is gray.  Attains 2.2 inches, 55 mm.  The gray foot is softer and less desirable than 'opihi 'alinalina.   Endemic to Hawaii.
