TALC LIMPET    'OPIHI KO'ELE

Locally common on subtidal boulders exposed to heavy surf from 3 to 20 feet.  It is rare west of Moloka'i.  Brown and dome-shaped with fine radiating ribs, and the interior scar is white.  The chewy yellow foot is best broiled before consumption.  Attains 3.8 inches, 95 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.
