EMERSON'S MITER

Very uncommon in fine sand deeper than 10 feet.  Flat spiral cords with and impressed central groove, the upper end protruding like a step, crossed by impressed axial grooves.  Attains at least 1.3 inches, 30 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  A smoother subspecies related to Neocancilla papilio langfordiana.  Formerly reported in Hawaii as Neocancilla clathrus emersoni.
