GLOBULAR VIOLET SNAIL

Rare on beaches after winter storms.  Purple overall with coarse inflated whorls, the outer lip lacking a deep notch.  Attains 1.6 inches, 40 mm.  Warm seas worldwide.  Formerly known as Janthina globosa.
