LAYARD'S ALLOCHROA
| Locally common under stones or in dark crevices in the splash
zone and high intertidal near freshwater seeps. Stout, 6 whorls,
with variable spiral grooves and axial striae, and a wider aperture than
Allochroa bronnii. Attains 0.3 inch, 8mm. Mauritius
to Japan, Hawaii, and Pitcairn. |
