UMBRELLA SLUG
| Quite rare in a wide range of habitats, from exposed tidepools,
algal meadows, or rubble where it feeds upon sponges. Two
forms are currently lumped into this circumtropical species in need
of further study; a brown form with small and medium-sized
compound tubercles, and orange form with large simple tubercles.
Attains at least 6 inches. Formerly known in Hawaii as
Umbraculum sinicum. |
