CLOUDED AUGER

Locally common in sand deeper than 20 feet.  Shell moderately slender, nearly flat axial ribs, grooves with spiral dashes.  Orange-brown with splashed with white.  Attains 3.8 inches, 96mm.  Easily confused with Myurellopsis columellaris, which may only be a form of this species.  Red Sea to Hawaii and Fiji.  Formerly known as Terebra nebulosa.
