HIEROGLYPH CONE  

Uncommon on barren reefs deeper than 30 feet.  Slender and glossy, spire smooth,  rusty brown or tan with white splashes, base dark brown.  Animal olive green mottled with black.  Attains 3 inches, 75 mm.  South Africa to Japan, Hawaii, and French Polynesia.
