MCBRIDE'S CONE

| Uncommon in sand or rubble deeper than 20 feet. The
lower third is abruptly purplish-brown with white spiral dashes. Attains
0.5 inch, 12 mm. Philippines to Micronesia, Hawaii, and the Society
Islands. This recently described species was once lumped within the
Conus sponsalis-nanus-paukstisi group. |
