COCK'S COMB SEAWEED
| Large broad reddish-yellow blades with ragged edges seasonally common at
any depth. Arises from a single holdfast and has dissected margins.
The undescribed species formerly identified as Halymenia formosa
is the most common of several species in Hawaii. Microscopic
examination is required for species-level ID. |
