GROOVE-TOOTHED COWRY

Fairly common under rocks or within in holes deeper than 15 feet.  Inflated with a tan base and large, deeply-incised teeth on the outer lip.  Some shells have a purple cast that fades after death.  Hybridizes with Schilder's cowry.  Attains 3 inches, 77 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Formerly known as Cypraea sulcidentata.
